Tunis water supply to be interrupted for 36 hours
The National Water Distribution and Exploitation Company (SONEDE) has announced a 36-hour water supply interruption affecting several areas in the Greater Tunis region. The cuts are scheduled to begin at 1:00 AM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with a gradual restoration of service expected starting from 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
The interruption is necessary to facilitate the diversion of a 1,000 mm diameter main distribution pipe that is obstructing a flood protection project in the La Marsa region. This project, supervised by the Ministry of Equipment and Housing, involves covering the Ettaheb stream to protect the area from flooding.
Affected areas include several delegations: La Marsa (including Bouselsla, Borj El Haouki, and Sidi Daoud), Le Kram, Carthage, El Khadra (including Les Berges du Lac 1), La Goulette (including Les Berges du Lac 2 and L’Aouina), and Soukra.
