Tunisia coach calls for patience after draw with Botswana
Tunisia national football team coach Moien Chaabani has called for patience from supporters following a 2-2 draw against Botswana in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The result leaves Tunisia with two points, placing them second in their group after an earlier 1-1 draw with Uganda.
Chaabani noted that while the team maintained control during the match, defensive errors and a lack of clinical finishing prevented a victory. He emphasized that the team is currently in a transitional phase and requires time to integrate younger players from the U-23 and U-20 squads to reach the desired competitive level.
Ahead of the fixture, Chaabani stressed the necessity of securing a win to compensate for previous dropped points. He indicated that the team would adopt a more offensive approach to pressure the opponent and exploit mistakes. Player Ali Maaloul echoed the determination to secure three points in the upcoming match.
