Tunisia considers two bond issuances in 2027 budget draft
Tunisia is considering the issuance of two bond loans as part of its 2027 state budget draft to mobilize resources on international financial markets. The proposed issuances consist of 450 million euros and 350 million dollars, utilizing private and direct placement mechanisms. International financial institutions have reportedly expressed readiness to provide these funds.
The total borrowing resources for the 2027 state budget are estimated at approximately 26.722 billion dinars. This is an increase from the 25.864 billion dinars projected for previous periods. These resources are divided between domestic borrowing, estimated at 19.845 billion dinars, and external borrowing, estimated at 6.877 billion dinars.
Domestic borrowing includes 1.4 billion dinars in 52-week Treasury bills, 8.645 billion dinars in Treasury discount paper (BTA), and 9.8 billion dinars in facilities provided by the Central Bank of Tunisia. The planned external borrowing of 6.877 billion dinars represents a significant increase compared to the 4.269 billion dinars expected in previous projections.
