Tunisia digital payments see growth in first half of 2026

Digital payments in Tunisia showed significant growth during the first half of 2026. According to the Central Bank of Tunisia, electronic payment activity and various digital methods increased compared to the same period in 2025.

Key statistics include a bank card fleet of 6.151 million and 3,427 ATMs. The country recorded 1,456 active merchant sites and 45,600 electronic payment terminals. Mobile payment development also continued, with 218,886 wallets recorded, representing a 5.5% increase from the previous year. Mobile payment activity reached 5 million transactions, totaling 914.2 million dinars.

Additionally, e-payment activity rose by 5.7%, alongside positive dynamics in proximity payments and other transaction indicators.
