Tunisia fires coach after 5-1 defeat to Sweden before Japan match

Tunisia suffered a 5‑1 loss to Sweden in the opening Group F match of the 2026 North America World Cup on 15 June in Monterrey, Mexico. Following the defeat, the Tunisian Football Federation dismissed head coach Ramzi and began searching for a replacement. The federation is in contact with Anis Boujellab, coach of the Tunisia U‑23 team who holds a Schengen visa, to lead the squad for the upcoming World Cup match against Japan on 21 June. Technical director Mondher Kebbaj is expected to act as interim boss in the meantime.

In Japan, the Sweden‑Tunisia game was broadcast on Nippon TV, with a live stream on DAZN and a recorded version on NHK BSP4K. The article also notes that no other Japanese terrestrial or satellite channels carried the match.
