North Africa faces extreme heat and sandstorms
North Africa is experiencing extreme weather conditions, with Algeria and Tunisia facing severe heatwaves and atmospheric instability.
In Algeria, the Office national de la météorologie (ONM) has issued alerts for temperatures reaching up to 49 °C in some areas. This heatwave increases the risk of wildfires, prompting civil protection authorities to issue warnings against outdoor activities and the use of flammable materials in forested areas. Localized thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds are also anticipated in the northeastern parts of the country.
