Tunisia national football coach's Morocco trip sparks resignation rumors

The Tunisian national football team is facing significant internal turmoil following a series of disappointing results in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Under head coach Maïyen Chaabani, the team secured only two points from draws against Uganda (1-1) and Botswana (2-2).

Internal tensions have escalated, leading to the cancellation of a scheduled friendly match against Mali. Reports indicate a heated altercation occurred between Chaabani and players, specifically involving striker Elyes Chaabani, who was dismissed from the training camp. Additionally, winger Elias Achouri reportedly left the squad following a tense exchange with the coach.

Amidst these disputes and mounting pressure from fans, Chaabani made an unexpected trip to Morocco, fueling speculation regarding his potential resignation from the coaching position.
