Tunisia pushes circular economy as a competitive edge for industry
The Tunisian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – French (CCITF) hosted a conference titled “Circular Economy and Industrial Competitiveness: Accelerating the Transition of Companies.” Institutional actors, experts and business representatives discussed the regulatory framework, innovative solutions and financial mechanisms needed to help Tunisian firms turn environmental constraints into growth opportunities.
CCITF president Khelil Chaibi emphasized that circular economy is no longer just an ecological duty but a key driver of performance amid resource scarcity, rising energy costs and tightening European market standards. He argued that adopting eco‑design, traceability, carbon‑footprint reduction, recycling and waste valorisation can improve resilience and market access, and called for coordinated regulation, financing tools and public‑private cooperation to scale these initiatives.
