Tunisia Pushes Sustainable Tourism and Italy Trade Forum in June 2026

Tunisia launched the Sustainable Tunisia | Human First initiative, a national programme aimed at aligning its tourism sector with Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) standards. The workshop in Tunis featured a Memorandum of Understanding between GSTC and Tunisian tourism authorities, and highlighted the role of transparent certification and market demand for credible sustainability information.

At the same time, Tunis is preparing to host the Tunisia‑Italy Business Forum on 24‑25 June 2026. Organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ICE and Tunisian ministries, the forum seeks to deepen economic ties that reached €6.5 billion in 2025. It will focus on energy and digital transitions, high‑tech industries, and traditional sectors such as textiles and agriculture, emphasizing Tunisia’s potential as a near‑shoring hub for European firms.
