Tunisia Sets 2027 Finance Bill Roadmap in Ministerial Council

On 4 August 2026, Tunisia’s head of government, Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzri, chaired a restricted ministerial council at the Government Palace in La Kasbah to outline the main orientations of the 2027 finance law (PLF). The plan is tied to the 2026‑2030 development strategy and emphasizes a participatory, territorial approach that promotes high‑value sectors, self‑sufficiency and resilience to global crises.

Finance Minister Michket Slama Khaldi presented the 2026 budget execution and the economic assumptions for 2027, highlighting the economy’s resilience despite financial pressures and geopolitical uncertainty. Priorities include strengthening food, water, energy and pharmaceutical security, digital transformation, public‑enterprise restructuring, health‑system reform, fiscal justice and gradual integration of the informal economy. The government aims for inclusive growth, balanced regional development and alignment with President Kaïs Saïed’s vision for a socially just state.
