Tunisia signs National Health Pact to drive digital healthcare transformation
Tunisia has signed a ‘National Health Pact’ aimed at accelerating universal health coverage through the digital transformation of its healthcare system. The agreement was signed by Health Minister Mustapha Ferjani and Communication Technologies Minister Sofiane Hemissi during the ‘TeleHealth Connect 2026’ international conference in Tunis.
The pact focuses on six strategic pillars: ensuring equitable digital access to health services, coordinating patient care pathways, establishing secure governance for health data, modernizing digital infrastructure, fostering innovation and skills development, and securing the pharmaceutical supply chain.
By utilizing telemedicine and digital tools, the initiative seeks to improve medical access for citizens in interior regions, fulfilling the right to health established by the 2022 Constitution. The project is supported by international partners, including the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and Japan.
