Tunisia: STEG announces potential rolling power outages

The Tunisian Company for Electricity and Gas (STEG) has announced potential rolling power outages across several regions of Tunisia. These intermittent interruptions are intended to maintain the safety and continuity of the electrical system by balancing production with consumption levels.

For Wednesday, August 26, potential outages were scheduled between 9 PM and midnight. For Thursday, August 27, the company indicated that outages could occur between 9:30 AM and 6 PM. In the Greater Tunis area, individual outage periods are expected not to exceed two hours.

Affected areas include significant portions of Greater Tunis, such as Ben Arous, La Goulette, and Manouba, as well as regions in Cap Bon, Sfax, and Zaghouan. STEG noted that the list of localities is subject to change and that power may be restored without prior notice depending on the state of the electrical grid.
