Tunisia summons French ambassador over France 24 interview with ex‑president Marzouki

The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 24 July 2026 summoned the French ambassador in Tunis after the French public‑service channel France 24 aired an interview with former president Moncef Marzouki, who is wanted by Tunisian authorities for alleged attacks on state security. President Kaïs Saïed denounced the broadcast as an “unacceptable interference” that “attacks the sovereignty of the Tunisian state, targets its national security and constitutes an explicit call to sedition and internal clashes.”
