Tunisia targets first World Cup group‑stage exit at 2026 tournament

Tunisia qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the seventh time and the third consecutive edition, becoming the first team in World Cup history to qualify without conceding a goal across its ten‑match African qualifying campaign. Coach Sabri Lamouchi built the side around defensive midfield captain Ellyes Skhiri and dynamic midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, with forwards such as Elias Achouri adding attacking threat.

Drawn in Group F with the Netherlands, Japan and Sweden, Tunisia will open its campaign against Sweden on 14 June in Guadalajara, followed by a match with Japan on 20 June in Monterrey and a final group game versus the Netherlands on 25 June in Kansas City.
