Tunisian construction firms target DRC market amid 140% export surge

Tunisian exports to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) reached 25.2 million dinars during the first eight months of 2026, marking a 140% increase compared to the same period in 2025. According to the Tunisian Export Promotion Center (CEPEX), this represents the highest level of exports recorded during the first eight months of any year.

To capitalize on this growth, three Tunisian companies specializing in the building and public works (BTP) sector—including SOFAP Bâtiment and LUXOR—participated in the 12th edition of the EXPOBETON international construction and infrastructure trade fair in Kinshasa from October 7 to 10, 2026. This marks the first time Tunisia has participated in this event.

The delegation, organized by CEPEX in cooperation with the Tunisian Embassy in Kinshasa, aimed to explore new commercial opportunities, identify local market needs, and establish partnerships. The event was visited by Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi and Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka. The trade fair featured 95 exhibitors from both the public and private sectors, including real estate developers and construction material distributors.
