Tunisian Football Federation adopts stricter disciplinary code

The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) federal bureau has approved a new disciplinary code designed to combat stadium violence and hooliganism. Scheduled for implementation starting with the 2026-2027 sporting season, the regulations introduce stricter penalties to protect sports facilities and national symbols.

Key measures include reinforced sanctions against the throwing of projectiles, the use of pyrotechnics, and any actions likely to cause panic among spectators. The code also aims to protect the national anthem and flag from inappropriate behavior, such as whistling. To ensure stricter enforcement, the FTF has decided to remove certain mitigating circumstances and increase financial penalties for various infractions.

Under the new framework, clubs will face direct consequences for supporter misconduct. Disciplinary actions may include matches played behind closed doors, particularly in cases of serious offenses or recidivism. This shift places clubs on the front line of maintaining order within sporting venues.
