Tunisia's Central Bank Calls for Seamless Digital Payments for 2026‑27 School Fees

The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), led by Governor Fethi Zouhair Nouri, issued a circular on 21 July directing banks, the National Post Office and non‑bank payment institutions to prepare for the school registration fee collection for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The notice requires all electronic payment channels – mobile wallets, bank or postal cards – to be fully operational, continuously monitored and quickly repaired in case of technical problems, to avoid service interruptions for families.

The BCT also asked the stakeholders to launch a communication campaign that informs parents about available digital options, assists those encountering difficulties, and strengthens coordination among the various actors to handle complaints and incidents promptly during the enrollment period.
