Tunisia's listed companies post 4.2% revenue growth in first half of 2026
The Tunis Stock Exchange reported that total revenue of listed companies reached 12.7 billion dinars in the first half of 2026, a 4.2% increase over the same period a year earlier. Sixty‑five percent of the 71 listed firms supplied data, and the Tunindex20 index alone generated 8.5 billion dinars, accounting for 67% of market revenue. Top performers included Sotuver (+27.2%), Amen Bank (+17.7%) and BT (+11.8%), while STB, Carthage Cement and City Cars posted declines.
The financial sector drove the overall gain, with banks posting a 4.9% rise in net banking product and Amen Bank and BTE showing strong jumps. Insurance premiums grew 9.8%, led by BH Assurance, and leasing revenues rose 5.8%. Consumer‑goods firms increased revenue by 5.9%, whereas the automotive segment fell 5.5%.
Industrial production data for Q1 2026 showed a 4.3% year‑on‑year increase, led by mining (+10.6%) and energy (+14.9%). Manufacturing growth was modest at 2%, with chemicals, construction materials and textiles still contracting. Agro‑food output rose 15.1% and mechanical‑electrical industries grew 4%.
