Tunison Foundation announces WWII warbird training in Hudson Valley

The Tunison Foundation has issued a public service announcement regarding upcoming formation training involving World War II-era warbirds over the Hudson Valley. The organization noted that the low-flying aircraft may cause concern for residents, stating, “We wanted to make the public aware that there is no threat and we are not under attack!”

The training sessions will take place at the Hudson Valley Regional Airport in Wappingers Falls, though the training itself is not open to the public. This follows similar concerns from residents last year when unannounced flights caused stir on social media.

Following the training, the “Wheels, Wings and Other Things” event will be held at the Hudson Valley Regional Airport on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm. The event will feature aircraft displays, including a C-47, helicopter rides, a museum, food trucks, and a car show.
