Tunuyán wine sector expands with new winery investment and cooperation pact

The wine industry in Tunuyán, Valle de Uco, is seeing significant development through new investments and institutional cooperation. Grupo Peñaflor, Argentina's leading wine group, has announced a US$44 million project to build a new winery in the region. This facility, expected to be operational by the 2027 harvest, will have a capacity of 15 million liters and will include a bottling line for ready-to-drink (RTD) products. The project is part of a larger US$75 million investment plan scheduled through 2028 and emphasizes automation and sustainability.

Simultaneously, the Municipality of Tunuyán and Bodegas de Argentina have signed a cooperation agreement to promote the wine and tourism sectors. This partnership aims to strengthen regional competitiveness through enotourism initiatives, professional training for gastronomic staff, and the implementation of the international ‘Wine in Moderation’ program. The agreement focuses on institutional, social, and cultural cooperation to enhance the local tourism experience and promote sustainable viticulture practices.
