Tuocheng District launches social welfare participatory budget voting
The New Taipei City Social Affairs Bureau has launched the social welfare participatory budgeting voting process for the Tuocheng District. Running from August 27 to September 27, the initiative features 27 proposals submitted by local community groups and associations.
The proposals cover a diverse range of social welfare needs, including services for children, the elderly, women, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable families. Specific projects include initiatives for elderly brain health and AI fraud prevention, improving accessibility for shops to support persons with disabilities, and vocational training to assist middle-aged and elderly women in re-entering the workforce.
To encourage civic engagement, the bureau is offering prizes such as iPhone 16 Pro, MacBook, and Dyson products for participants. Eligible residents aged 15 and older can vote online via the New Taipei VOTE platform, with residents of Tuocheng receiving double voting weight.
