Tupac Shakur murder trial documentary announced

An untitled documentary directed by BAFTA winner Marian Mohamed is in development regarding the murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis. The film is set to premiere on Sky Documentaries and the streaming service NOW in 2027.

The project follows the legal proceedings from the first day of evidence through the verdict and Davis’s sentencing. It will feature previously unseen personal footage and photographs provided by the Shakur family, including contributions from Tupac Shakur’s brother, Mopreme Shakur, and members of Tupac’s inner circle.

Davis, a former Compton gang leader, was convicted of first-degree murder in August for his role in the 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur near the Las Vegas Strip. While a U.S. distributor has not yet been announced, the film aims to provide a perspective from the family, who have sought to reclaim the narrative of the decades-old case.
