Tupac Shakur's estate sues alleged killer Keefe D and unnamed co‑conspirators

Maurice "Mopreme" Shakur, stepbrother and administrator of Tupac Shakur’s estate, filed a wrongful‑death lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on April 28. The complaint names Duane "Keefe D" Davis, the only suspect currently on trial for the September 1996 Las Vegas drive‑by shooting that killed the rapper, and numerous unidentified "John Does" alleged to have participated in planning, financing, directing or carrying out the murder.

The civil action is separate from Davis’s criminal case; he was arrested in September 2023, is jailed awaiting trial scheduled for August 10, and faces murder–with‑use‑of‑a‑deadly‑weapon charges.
