Tupungato implements new fines for debris left on public roads
The Municipality of Tupungato has enacted Ordinance No. 18 to regulate the disposal of construction materials and debris on public streets and sidewalks. The measure, approved by the Deliberative Council under Mayor Gustavo Aguilera, aims to ensure pedestrian and vehicle circulation and improve public safety.
Under the new regulations, the municipality will provide free removal of up to one cubic meter of debris per resident, following a specific schedule of days and times to be announced through official channels. Residents with debris exceeding this limit are required to hire private containers at their own expense or arrange for municipal removal through the Revenue area.
Failure to comply will result in enforcement actions. If excess materials are detected, residents will be notified to clear the area within a specified timeframe. If the debris is not removed, the municipality will perform a forced removal, charging 2,500 Tax Units (UT) for every six cubic meters (or fraction thereof), plus applicable fines. Unpaid costs and fines may be charged directly to the taxpayer’s municipal registry.
