Turamichele festival celebrates 500th anniversary in Augsburg

The Turamichele festival in Augsburg is celebrating its 500th anniversary this coming weekend. Due to ongoing renovation work on the Perlachturm, the traditional Archangel Michael figure will not appear at its usual window.

Instead, the festivities will take place at the Rathausplatz, featuring performances by the Augsburger Puppenkiste. The puppet shows, which tell the legend of the tower's inhabitant, will be broadcast on an LED wall to ensure visibility for all attendees. The program also includes hourly balloon releases, a fairy tale tent, a bouncy castle, and a fire brigade experience world.
