Turgutlu hosts peace ceremony to end eight-year family feud
An eight-year feud between two families, which originated in Bitlis following a death, has officially ended through a peace ceremony held in the Turgutlu district of Manisa.
The reconciliation was facilitated by the efforts of community leaders and family elders, including Ahmet Demir, President of the Turgutlu Bitlisliler Association, and Şeyh Zabıt Baydur. Mediation efforts were further supported by İzzet Yöndem and Eyüp Yöndem to prevent further escalation and preserve social peace.
The ceremony took place at the Abbasiler Taziye House and was attended by various political figures, including AK Party Manisa Deputy Mücahit Arınç and Turgutlu Mayor Çetin Akın. Following a prayer led by Turgutlu Mufti Ömer Çoban, the families confirmed their agreement by shaking hands in the presence of guests and local officials.
