Turgutreis Spor declines BAL promotion due to financial constraints

Turgutreis Spor Kulübü has announced its decision not to participate in the Regional Amateur League (BAL), despite earning promotion after winning the Muğla championship and ending an 18-year wait.

The club management stated that the decision was a necessity to protect the club's future rather than a choice. They cited a lack of sufficient financial and moral support from local governments, institutions, and various sectors in Muğla as the primary reason. The board emphasized that the entire financial burden of a sports club cannot rest solely on the president and the management board.

While the club expressed gratitude to Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci for providing new facilities, the management noted that physical infrastructure alone is insufficient to cover the high costs of competing at the BAL level. The club intends to use this period to prepare for a stronger return to the field under more sustainable economic conditions.
