Turin and Dove launch digital wellness initiative for schools

The City of Turin's Youth Policy Department and the Dove Self-Esteem Project have announced a collaboration to support local schools. The initiative aims to provide teachers and students with educational tools to address the relationship between digital media use, psychological well-being, and body image.

The launch event took place at the Leone Sinigaglia Comprehensive Institute, involving approximately 80 students from fourth and fifth grades. The program addresses concerns regarding the impact of social media on adolescents, specifically how unrealistic aesthetic models and beauty standards can affect identity formation and self-esteem.

Data indicates that 85% of Italian teenagers aged 11-17 use smartphones daily, with 38% of those aged 11-18 spending more than five hours on digital devices, highlighting the urgency of promoting conscious digital consumption.
