Turin fugitive arrested at airport after fleeing prostitution charges

An Italian man has been arrested at the Torino-Caselle airport after fleeing abroad to avoid a definitive prison sentence. The individual was intercepted by the Squadra Mobile and Polaria upon arriving on a flight from Vilnius, Lithuania.

The man was sentenced to 2 years and 25 days in prison for facilitating prostitution. The case dates back to 2009-2010, involving an organized network that recruited young women from Lithuania to work in a massage center in Turin. Following his conviction by the Court of Appeal of Turin in 2021, the suspect went into hiding, prompting international monitoring efforts that eventually led to his location in the Baltic region.
