Turin hosts initiatives for sustainable tourism and civic engagement

Turin is hosting several initiatives focused on urban development and civic participation. The VivaCITY Academy will take place on October 1 at Palazzo di Città, focusing on the future of tourism destinations and local stakeholder engagement. As winners of the VivaCITY Challenge, Turin and Helsinki will share best practices regarding sustainability and data-driven tourism management. This project is part of a three-year initiative promoted by the City Destinations Alliance.

Additionally, the city will hold the sixth edition of ‘Open Patti’ on October 3. This event showcases the ‘Patti di collaborazione’ (collaboration pacts), through which citizens and associations manage and enhance public goods such as gardens, squares, and community buildings. Currently, over one hundred such pacts are active in Turin, promoting social, cultural, and sporting activities through shared administration between the city and its residents.
