Turin implements summer assistance program for elderly residents

The City of Turin is implementing its 'Piano Estate 2026' to support elderly and fragile residents. The program, which runs from June 1 to September 30, involves a coordinated network including the Social Services Department, ASL Città di Torino, Civil Protection, and Municipal Police.

A central component is the 'Servizio Aiuto Anziani' (Elderly Help Service), which provides monitoring, vigilance, and home assistance for residents over 65 who face social, economic, or health vulnerabilities. Between June 1 and August 10, the service recorded 1,062 contacts, consisting of 618 phone calls and 444 emails. This represents approximately one-third of the total 3,190 contacts recorded since the beginning of the year.
