Turin inaugurates new energy transition hub at Environment Park

A new energy transition hub has been inaugurated at Environment Park in Turin, Italy. The facility comprises 5,000 square meters of advanced laboratories designed to facilitate research, development, and technological transfer in the energy sector.

The center integrates two major infrastructure projects: iEntrance, coordinated by the CNR and managed by the Politecnico di Torino, and CoSyET, led by the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). These projects aim to bridge the gap between basic research and industrial application, focusing on areas such as green hydrogen, CO2 capture, battery storage, and power electronics.

The total investment for the hub exceeds 55 million euros, consisting of over 35 million euros from the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) funds and 20 million euros from private industrial partners. The facility is intended to support European climate neutrality goals by reducing fossil fuel dependency and accelerating the validation of new energy technologies for the industrial market.
