Turin International Book Fair announces sixth translation conference

The Turin International Book Fair has announced the sixth edition of ‘From Italian to the World,’ a symposium dedicated to supporting the translation of Italian literature abroad and fostering global networking among translators. The event is scheduled for Friday, November 20, beginning at 2:30 PM.

Curated by Ilide Carmignani, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between Italian literary production and international markets, particularly for works that may lack commercial appeal but possess high cultural value. The conference seeks to facilitate a dialogue between Italian authors and foreign translators to help Italian books achieve status within ‘Weltliteratur’ (world literature).

The program features various finalists and winners of prestigious Italian literary prizes who will share translation insights. Notable participants include Andrea Bajani, Annalena Benini, Marcello Fois, Valeria Parrella, and Antonio Riccardi, among others.
