Turin Metro to suspend service on August 9 for maintenance
The Turin metro system will suspend passenger service for the entire day on Sunday, August 9, 2026, to facilitate infrastructure maintenance and system updates. The shutdown affects the entire M1 line, stretching from the Fermi terminus to Piazza Bengasi, between the hours of 7:00 and 21:30.
To mitigate the impact on commuters, GTT will implement a replacement bus service (M1S) that follows the exact route of the metro, featuring 23 stops located near the underground stations. Maintenance activities will focus on underground tunnels, tracks, and the renewal of central servers and communication networks to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Additionally, structural roadworks in via Bava will affect bus connections through September 2026. The Venaria Express, N8 ORO, and E68 VERDE lines will follow detours via Corso San Maurizio and Lungo Po Cadorna to reach Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Regular metro service is expected to resume on Monday, August 10.
