Turin's Festival dell'Accoglienza 2026 Highlights Gentleness and Interfaith Dialogue

The sixth edition of the Festival dell'Accoglienza runs from 11 September to 30 October in Turin, Italy. Organized by the Archdiocese of Turin, the diocesan Pastoral of Migrants, Generazioni Migranti and Fondazione Migrantes, it is supported by the Piedmont Region, the city and metropolitan authorities, and several foundations.

The festival’s theme, "La mitezza è disarmante. Un’altra idea di coraggio" (Gentleness is disarming. Another idea of courage), reflects a call for more compassionate communication amid rising aggression. Over 50 days the programme features more than 160 guests and over a hundred events, including debates, theatre, music, workshops, cinema, exhibitions and spiritual sessions.

Key topics include inter‑religious dialogue between Christianity and Islam, discussions on the Israeli‑Palestinian conflict, the situation in Syria, anti‑hate initiatives, security and humanitarian law. Notable participants are Sergio Durando, referent of the Pastoral Migrants; Archbishop Jacques Mourad of Homs; priest Pier Luigi Maccalli of the African Missions; Prefect Franco Gabrielli; and sociologist Chiara Sarace.
