The opening round of the Turismo Carretera Copa de Oro in San Luis proved difficult for several key competitors. Similarly, José Manuel Urcera described his performance as one of the worst starts to a title campaign in his career. Despite recent improvements in his Mercedes-Benz, Urcera struggled with a lack of acceleration, finishing in 30th place.
