Turismo Carretera Copa de Oro begins with setbacks for Lambiris and Urcera

The opening round of the Turismo Carretera Copa de Oro in San Luis proved difficult for several key competitors. Uruguayan driver Mauricio Lambiris faced a mechanical issue when his accelerator became stuck while fighting for 10th place, forcing an unscheduled pit stop that resulted in him falling significantly behind. Following the race, Lambiris indicated a potential move to Scudería JT, managed by Jerónimo Teti, though regulations prevent Copa de Oro participants from changing vehicles during the current playoff stage.

Similarly, José Manuel Urcera described his performance as one of the worst starts to a title campaign in his career. Despite recent improvements in his Mercedes-Benz, Urcera struggled with a lack of acceleration, finishing in 30th place. He noted that while he could navigate corners effectively, he lacked the straight-line speed to defend positions or overtake competitors.
