Turismo Carretera prepares for Copa de Oro race in San Nicolás
Various regional and national sporting events are scheduled across Argentina and Uruguay. In San Nicolás, Argentina, the Turismo Carretera (TC) championship prepares for its 12th round of the 2026 Copa de Oro on October 3 and 4. A total of 53 cars are confirmed to compete, including championship leader Mariano Werner and Agustín Canapino. The event will feature a city parade through San Nicolás prior to the race at the Autódromo Ciudad de San Nicolás. Notable changes in the lineup include the return of Sebastián Abella and the departure of Jeremías Olmedo due to budget constraints.
Other notable competitions include the Provincial XCO 2026 Mountain Bike Championship in Trelew, Chubut, set for early October at the Mar y Valle circuit. In Uruguay, the Yacht Club Uruguayo hosted the 2026 Uruguayo de Handicap Championship, with Nicolás González winning the ORC class and Baltazar Siedenburg winning the Festival category. Additionally, the Turismo Nacional championship is scheduled to visit Concordia, Entre Ríos, on October 31 and November 1, marking the penultimate round of the season.
