Turismo do Algarve and UAlg launch tourism student scholarships

Turismo do Algarve and the Universidade do Algarve (UAlg) have established a cooperation protocol to provide two scholarships for students in the Tourism Degree program at the Escola Superior de Gestão, Hotelaria e Turismo (ESGHT).

One scholarship is designated for social support, aimed at a student with economic needs who completed secondary education in Portugal. The second scholarship is based on academic merit, awarded to the student with the highest grade point average in the first year of the degree. Both scholarships cover the annual tuition fees of the university and are renewable based on academic performance.

Beyond financial aid, Turismo do Algarve will monitor the beneficiaries and attempt to facilitate internships at the end of their studies. The partnership also aims to strengthen the connection between the regional tourism sector and academia through increased collaboration between faculty, students, and the regional entity.
