Turkey achieves 95.45 percent success in ICAO aviation audits
Turkey has achieved a 95.45 percent success rate in audits conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) under the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme Continuous Monitoring Approach.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM), the audits conducted between September 16 and September 22, 2026, evaluated several key areas: Legislation (LEG), Organization (ORG), Flight Operations (OPS), and Airworthiness (AIR). In all evaluated areas, Turkey's Effective Implementation (EI) level exceeded the ICAO EUR/NAT regional average. Specifically, the levels for legislation, flight operations, and airworthiness reached above 90 percent.
The SHGM noted that legislative capacity, technological development, and digital transformation efforts supported by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure played a significant role in these results. Digital systems such as KDM-ORG and KDM-ERP have enhanced end-to-end traceability, data management, and audit efficiency. The authority stated that these results are a milestone toward a next-generation oversight system capable of preemptively identifying risks.
