Turkey adds summer high‑speed train services on Ankara‑Sivas line

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that, from 3 July to 14 September 2026, additional high‑speed train services will operate on the Ankara‑Sivas line to meet increased summer travel demand and the start of the school term. The extra trips, scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, will use 411‑seat trainsets, providing a total of 36,168 extra passenger seats.

Since its inauguration on 26 April 2023, the line has carried about 2.5 million passengers between Ankara and Sivas, and an additional 1.25 million on direct Istanbul‑Sivas services. The new services are intended to improve comfort, address high demand, and further integrate regional connections such as Malatya and Tokat into the high‑speed network.
