Turkey's civil servants face below‑expected July wage increase

A survey of 17 economists conducted by AA Finans projects that the July salary increase for Turkish civil servants will fall short of the previously discussed 15% threshold, potentially reaching around 13.6%. The same poll expects June inflation to rise 1.04% month‑on‑month, which would lead to a 17.8% raise for SSK and Bağ‑Kur retirees. The exact rates will be confirmed when the Turkish Statistical Institute publishes the June consumer‑price index on 3 July 2026.

The expected lower raise also affects pensioners, as banks are anticipated to adjust promotional packages tied to the new wage levels. Experts warn retirees should monitor these offers, which may increase after the official inflation and salary figures are released.
