Turkey advances aerospace production with HÜRJET assembly and TUSAŞ inspections

Turkey is advancing its domestic aerospace and defense capabilities through significant developments at TUSAŞ and TOMTAŞ. A delegation from the Balıkesir MÜSİAD branch, including AK Party MP Mustafa Canbey, recently visited TUSAŞ production facilities to inspect aircraft and discuss national engineering progress in the defense sector.

Simultaneously, component-level assembly for the HÜRJET—a turbofan-powered advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft—has commenced at the TOMTAŞ facilities in Kayseri. TOMTAŞ, which traces its history back to Turkey’s first aircraft factory established in 1926, is now providing services to the aerospace industry with over 500 qualified personnel. TOMTAŞ General Manager Ali Ekşi noted that the assembly of the TUSAŞ-designed HÜRJET marks a historic cycle for the Kayseri site, returning to aircraft production a century after its original founding.
