Turkey advances agriculture with tomato seedling distribution in Aydın and land consolidation in Malatya

In the Aydın province town of Buharkent, the regional Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry handed out 38,000 transitory tomato seedlings as part of the TAKE (Effective Use of Agricultural Land) programme. The project, funded with a 13.4 million‑lira budget, also included earlier distribution of over 9 tonnes of sunflower seed, 8 tonnes of sorghum seed and more than half a million winter vegetable seedlings.

Separately, the Turkish president signed a decree to start land‑consolidation and field‑improvement works in 16 neighbourhoods of Akçadağ district, Malatya. Managed by the State Water Works (DSİ) under the authority of Law No. 6200, the plan aims to merge fragmented plots, modernise farming methods and boost agricultural productivity in the region.
