Turkey's Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş Unveils Terror-Free Turkey Law

Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş has toured several provinces, including Van and Ağrı, to hold "Terörsüz Türkiye Kardeşlik Sofrası" meetings with families of martyrs and veterans. She stressed that terrorism has inflicted deep social and economic wounds on families, describing the upcoming reforms as a historic step toward a terror‑free Turkey.

Göktaş announced a 12‑item legislative package that has passed a parliamentary commission and was submitted to the Grand National Assembly. The draft raises monthly benefits for martyr parents to the minimum‑wage level, extends veteran status to those injured in anti‑terror operations, and pledges that no family will be left without support. She linked the initiative to national unity, peace, stability and economic growth, noting Turkey’s defence‑industry achievements and the backing of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.

The programme, held in 18 provinces over the past year, is presented as a cornerstone of the "Turkey’s Century" vision for a secure, prosperous society.
