Turkey allocates 12.3 million lira to 35 new cinema projects

Turkey's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, announced a new funding package of 12.3 million lira for 35 cinematic projects. This latest allocation covers various sectors, including 14 short film productions, six animation films, 13 screenplay and dialogue projects, and two project development initiatives.

With this addition, the total funding allocated to these four specific categories for 2026 has increased by approximately 49% compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 20,902,500 lira. Ersoy noted that the number of supported film and development projects throughout the year has reached 120. When including support provided to cinema halls, the total resources allocated by the ministry have exceeded 315 million lira.
