Turkey and Azerbaijan associations unveil new leadership appointments

The KGK held an online general assembly in which delegates elected a new management team. Mehmet Ali Dim was confirmed as president, with Nevzat Çiçek as vice‑president and deputies Savaş Çokduygulu, Nalan Yazgan, Ersel Yıldırım and Edip Üzen. Lütfü Karakaş was re‑appointed secretary and Muhammed Vefa Özalp continued as finance chief. New provincial representatives were named for 14 districts, and Ahmet Coşkunaydın was appointed Istanbul delegate while Alihan Pehlivan became the KKTC delegate. Dim emphasized the changes as a routine renewal for the organization, which now claims representation in 85 countries.

Separately, the board of the Magazin Gazetecileri Derneği (MGD) visited Anıtkabir in Ankara. President Bülent Makar led the delegation in laying a wreath at Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s mausoleum, signed the Anıtkabir special register and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to Atatürk’s principle that “the press is the voice of the nation.” The ceremony highlighted the group’s dedication to upholding republican values in journalism.
