TMO announces 2026 dried raisin purchase prices

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has announced its 2026 intervention purchase prices for seedless dried raisins to ensure market stability and protect producers. Prices vary by quality: 100 TL/kg for grade 10, 95 TL/kg for grade 9, 90 TL/kg for grade 8, and 85 TL/kg for grade 7. Purchases are scheduled to begin on September 15, 2026, across 11 designated locations, including Manisa, Alaşehir, and Salihli.

The announcement has drawn mixed reactions from the agricultural sector. Some producers in Manisa's Alaşehir district expressed relief, noting that TMO prices are significantly higher than the 50-60 TL/kg rates offered by private traders.

However, political figures and other farmers have criticized the decision. Yeni Parti Manisa Deputy Ahmet Vehbi Bakırlıoğlu argued that the 95 TL/kg price for grade 9 raisins is a significant decrease from last year's 120 TL/kg, failing to account for rising production costs such as fuel, fertilizer, and labor. Critics also noted that the delay in announcing prices forced many farmers to sell their crops to traders at much lower rates earlier in the season.
