Turkey and Indonesia deepen media and public diplomacy cooperation in Jakarta
Turkey and Indonesia held a round‑table meeting in Jakarta to expand cooperation in media, communication and public diplomacy. The talks were coordinated by Turkey’s Communication Presidency and attended by Turkish officials including Ambassador Prof. Dr. Talip Küçükcan, senior communication advisers and researchers, as well as Indonesian representatives from the Presidency, Foreign Ministry, Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry, Antara News Agency, Press Council, national radio and television broadcasters and the Film Production Agency.
Participants reviewed existing collaboration, discussed joint projects to combat disinformation, strengthen strategic communication, and explore the opportunities and risks of artificial‑intelligence‑driven media. They also examined cultural diplomacy initiatives such as gastronomy diplomacy, country branding and educational exchange. Both sides affirmed their intention to set up institutional mechanisms and launch concrete programmes to sustain and deepen bilateral media and public‑diplomacy ties.
