Turkey and Iran discuss Strait of Hormuz reopening

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation to discuss regional stability and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

During the call, Araghchi provided updates regarding bilateral discussions between Iran and Oman aimed at establishing a secure maritime corridor through the strategic strait. Iran and Oman have reportedly reached an agreement on the geographic coordinates for a proposed route, with ongoing discussions focusing on technical, legal, and security aspects to finalize the arrangement.

The ministers also addressed recent regional developments and diplomatic efforts intended to prevent further escalation and manage the ongoing crisis in the region.
