Turkey and Iraq near agreement to extend crude oil flows via Kirkuk‑Ceyhan pipeline

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar met Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al‑Zaydi and Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair in Baghdad to finalize a new 12‑month arrangement that will keep the Kirkuk‑Ceyhan crude oil pipeline operating without interruption to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan. Both sides said the agreement is in its final stage and will be signed in the coming days, ensuring continued oil shipments from Iraq to Turkey.

The talks also addressed broader energy cooperation, including more efficient use of existing infrastructure, new pipeline links, and joint investment projects such as the Development Road Project and a proposed Turkey‑Iraq fund to boost trade and agricultural investment.
